In Hogwarts Legacy, players encounter numerous side quests while exploring Hogsmeade, including the intriguing mission known as Venomous Revenge. This quest revolves around Ackley Barnes, a shady wizard seeking payback against his former business partner, Alfred Lawley. Players must navigate a sneaky infiltration, moral decisions, and reward choices that determine how the storyline unfolds.

Starting the Venomous Revenge Quest

To begin this quest, travel to Hogsmeade and look behind The Three Broomsticks pub. There, you will find Ackley Barnes muttering to himself about his revenge scheme. Speaking with him reveals that he wants you to infiltrate Alfred Lawley's nearby cellar and steal a prized Venomous Tentacula plant.

Infiltrating the Cellar and In-Game Choices

Head to the cellar entrance located near Zonko's Joke Shop to start the break-in. Inside, use the Disillusionment spell to stay hidden from Lawley while distracting him with target spells if necessary. Sneak past him into the back caverns, defeat the aggressive spiders, and claim the Venomous Tentacula. Alternatively, if you already possess a Venomous Tentacula in your inventory, you can give it directly to Barnes to bypass breaking into the cellar.

Quest Completion and Rewards

Return to Ackley Barnes outside the pub to hand over the required plant and complete the quest. During the final conversation, players can either hand over the plant freely or demand extra payment for their efforts. Demanding payment yields an extra 500 Galleons alongside the standard Dragonhide Herbologist Gloves transmog reward.
